Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus Christ, because of His sacrifice on the cross. I bring myself, my husband and children before you.

Father, I pray according to Psalm 1 verse 2 to 3, that we as a family will delight in Your law. And that we will meditate day and night on it. I pray that we will be like trees firmly planted [and fed] by streams of water, which yields fruit in its season and our leaves shall not wither, in whatever we do, we will prosper [and come to maturity] in Jesus name.

I pray according to Proverbs 3:5 and 6, that we will acknowledge You in all our ways and that You will make our ways perfect and our paths straight. Father, it is our hearts desire to walk worthy of the Lord and to always walk in Your ways. I ask that you will take charge over our lives and lead us in paths of righteousness, I ask that you will deliver us from the evil one in Jesus name. When we go astray, please help us and set us free. I pray that we will trust in You with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding and that we will always run to You when we need help. Father, please forgive us for trying to work things out by ourselves and not enquire from You.

Father, I pray according to Psalm 5:12, that You will bless us, that Your favour will surround us as with a shield. I pray Psalm 17:8 out over us, “Keep us as the apple of Your eye, hide us under the shadow of Your wings.” I ask that you will daily anoint us with fresh oil, that You will impart in us that which we need to be successful and effective in everything we do. I ask that our cups will be filled with all that You are and it will run over, that gladness and joy will overtake us in Jesus name.

Father, Psalm 25:4 and 5 says: “Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me. For you are the God of my salvation; on You I will wait all the day.” This is my heart for us as a family. Father, please teach us Your ways that we will become more aquianted with You. We need Your absolute influence in our lives because we can’t do life without Your guidance.

Father, now I bring Psalm 91:1 before You and I proclaim that us as a family will choose to dwell in Your secret place and abide under the shadow of Your wings, under Your protection. Holy Spirit convict our hearts when we are straying away from You, when we go out from Your covering because of our sins, transgressions and iniquities. Please bring us to our senses and bring us back to the covering under Your wings. Make us uncomfortable with sin, in Jesus name. I know Father, it is not You that doesn’t protect us, it’s because we have gone out from Your covering by our rebellion and pride. Please forgive us for this deception and set us free from evil. Thank You Father, that in the name of Jesus, we will say of You (in verse 2), “He is my rock and my fortress, my God in Him I will trust.

“Father, I proclaim that You are our hiding place, You shall preserve us from trouble and that You shall surround us with songs of deliverance. Thank You that You say You will instruct and teach us in the way we should go and that You will guide us with Your eye. (Psalm 32:5)

And now Father, I ask that you will bless us and keep us. That You will make Your face shine upon us, be gracious to us, lift up Your countenance upon us and give us peace in Jesus name, Amen and amen. (Num 6:24-26)
