The Mouth Gate – What Am I Saying?

The Mouth Gate – What Am I Saying?

Mmmm, if there is a place where we all need serious discipline it surely is here. We can all agree that there is a whole lot of work to be done in this gate. Therefore, let us not waste time and leave it for another day, but let us start now with getting our tongue under control.

Before we start, I would like to share a scripture with you that God gave me many years ago. With this scripture He challenged me to change the way I was carrying myself as His child.

Isaiah 62:3 You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

So, this was the day I decided to change my way of speaking and behaving. The day I started “finishing school” for the Kingdom of Heaven. (I am much better now, but I am still watching myself daily!) The mere fact that God said I am a crown of beauty and a royal diadem in His hand made me seriously consider my condition as His child. I was thinking on how royalty behave themselves – royal people speak with grace, everything they do is done with excellence. I was thinking on what my actions looked like to others that were non Christians. Was there a distinction between being a child of God and being a child of the world? I was asking myself if I was really obeying Gods Word and living His Word.

We need to ask ourselves these type of questions so that we can challenge ourselves to really walk as God directs and not be deceived.

Yes, there will be times we will fail, but we should keep at it until it becomes second nature to reject ill behavior. The fact that we are working at it and being mindful of especially our way of speaking is already a huge milestone.

Let us look at the next scriptures. Keeping in mind what I just said.

Proverbs 11:13 (AMP) He who goes about as a gossip reveals secrets,
But he who is trustworthy and faithful keeps a matter hidden.

Ephesians 4:29 (NIV) Do not let any unwholesome talk (rotten, corrupt, foul) come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Isaiah 58:9 (NIV) Then when you call, the LORD will answer. ‘Yes, I am here,’ he will quickly reply. “Remove the heavy yoke of oppression. Stop pointing your finger and spreading vicious rumors!

Beloveds, I think that we should really start listening to ourselves when we speak. We have become so used to a certain way of speaking that we don’t even realize that we are speaking ill and doing things that does not glorify God.

We are representing Heaven and we can not afford to still speak and joke around with filth on our lips. How many of us still listens or even tells jokes that are vulgar and we think it is very funny? How easy is it for us to swear at someone when we are angry? How many of us gossip about others, especially when we are offended by them? How many of us like to listen to love songs that are full of swearing or that is against the principals set out in the Word of God ? Isn’t it that we then have the same things in common with the devil and his ways? This is the way of his kingdom. We are in agreement with the devil when we do these things. How many times do we try to resist the devil in our lives but it doesn’t work? We then wonder why God is not helping us, but we do things that glorifies the devil and we lose our authority in Christ by our agreement with the devil. We need to come out of agreement with darkness. We need to watch what we say and do!

We love God and we want to walk worthy of Him. So, let us repent and change our ways.

My friends, we all are guilty, we fall short, but we can stop. It is a choice. We can choose whom we will serve wholeheartedly, not on our conditions but according to what the Word of God dictates. We cannot obey one part of the Word of God and reject the rest. We need to obey His whole Word.

For a while now I have been hearing these words in my spirit: “If you love Me…” – meaning:” if You love Me will You do as My Word commands, speak with grace, keep your heart from being hardened, not slander, criticize or judge etc.?

How about using this phrase every time we face something that is difficult without responding our usual way when we feel unsafe or triggered. Maybe what we need to do is to first recall these words “If you love Me” when we are offended, angry, feeling unloved etc. Maybe this will help us to stay out of the trap of the enemy.

So, how can we pray when I want to lash out, gossip or swear?

Example – Father, I am so angry, I want to swear, this person has been telling lies about me, but I love You and I want to honor You in all I do. Your word says bless those who curse you (you need to know what Gods Word says concerning certain things so that you can pray affectively) – I love You, so therefore I choose to bless this person OR I cannot forgive and bless this person, but because I love You I choose to give it into Your hands and I ask that You will please help me to be able to forgive them and let it go. Father my heart is hurting, will you please heal me in this area in Jesus name? We should always run to Jesus and talk our hearts out to Him. Tell Him about every emotion you have, just like you would when you tell a friend. This way is just much safer for you.

A Testimony

When my husband and I were young we went through a very difficult situation with people that were our leaders and that we looked up to. I don’t want to go into too much detail, but I want to tell you how God vindicated us because we kept our side clean. There was a lot of misunderstandings between us and them, so we did as the Bible directs, we went and spoke to them to sort everything out. It did not go well and they wanted to have more meetings. God spoke very clearly to us about NOT telling anyone else about the disagreements and hostile behaviors. God also didn’t want us to try to justify ourselves. He gave us a scripture that told us explicitly that there will be many meetings but it will come to nothing. So, we did not expect for the situation to be resolved in the meetings. Our expectations of how it would go was managed by the scripture God gave us. All we did was to trust God that it will work out the way He has intended it. Many times people would phone and asked what was going on and we would say we may not talk about it. With this situation we have learnt how God protects us when we don’t go around gossiping and telling people about what was happening and what pain we have experienced. We have learnt to only talk to God about our pain and struggles we went through with these people. It was Him and us!

We should not be deceived about what we think gossip is. When you tell someone about something that harmed you, that person that cares for you will take your side and will then get angry and have an attitude against those that hurt you. So, you are actually defiling that person and getting them and yourself in trouble in the spirit. We think we are only telling them about what is going on, but it is gossip and it is sin. You should keep it for yourself and report it only to Jesus. This way God can protect you because you are in the boundaries of His Word. We need to understand that the enemy will use anything we do or say against us to oppress and harm us. If you have something in common with him, moving in his spirit, he can attack you. Gossip, slander, judging, criticizing, pointing of the finger etc. are all characteristics of darkness and we can not fight darkness with darkness (witchcraft) or expect God to vindicate us.

So, long story short, God vindicated us wonderfully. The lesson was to keep quiet so that God could keep us safe from the witchcraft that was launched against us. We will only experience sickness, pain and oppression in a situation like this if we are moving in sin. We knew that we were talked about but we didn’t do the same, therefore, we did not experience sickness, disease or oppression in whatsoever way. This is how God can protect and vindicate us, we need to work with him and stay within the boundaries of His Word.

My friends, let us start getting serious about our way of speaking, operating and telling others about issues we have with other people.

Prayer – Oh, Lord Jesus, I repent of my ways. I repent that my tongue is loose and I have no control over it. I have been allowing myself for years to respond in a way that does not glorify You. I have a bad habit of letting loose my tongue when I feel threatened or when I am joking around. Please forgive me for not even realizing anymore that my tongue is out of control. I ask that the blood of Jesus will wash over my tongue, please disconnect my tongue from all evil speech, slander, gossip, criticism, pointing of the finger etc. Please remove speaking with bitterness from my tongue in the name of Jesus. I ask Holy Spirit to please convict my heart immediately when I am busy entertaining foul speech, gossip and slander again. I know I have to reprogram myself because this way has been grafted into me, but I am willing to change because I love You Lord. I choose to bring my tongue out of darkness and the control of darkness in the name of Jesus. I choose to give it back to You Jesus Christ. Please take full authority over my tongue in the name of Jesus Christ. I rededicate my tongue to you and I ask that Your Kingdom will come here in the name of Jesus. Father, please download these words “IF YOU LOVE ME” deep, deep into my spirit so that I will constantly be mindful of You in everything I do. I open my heart to receive these words and to respond to You my King and Savior, Jesus. May my life be a love song to You, Jesus, my deliverer, healer, redeemer and Savior. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen and amen.

The Eye Gate – No Wicked thing!

The Eye Gate – No Wicked thing!

Beloveds, I want to say well done to you for training your eyes to not look in the natural. Well done for unhooking from the suggestions of the world and for turning to Jesus for answers.

So then, let us wrap up and finish with this gate today.

May we stay mindful of what we allow ourselves to see, look at and hook our eyes into.

Psalm 101:3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes – The wicked thing here refers to Belial which means worthless. David was saying that he will not look upon and tolerate worthless things. If any ungodly or unjust thing be suggested to him when he is looking at it, whatsoever pretenses it may be covered with, he will cast it out of his mind and thoughts with abhorrence, so far will he be from putting it in execution.

I hate the work of them that turn aside – literally, the doing of acts that swerve, that depart from the right way.

It shall not cleave to me – David would shake it off as a thing accursed.

Let us read this verse from the Passion translation.

Psalm 101:3 I refuse to gaze on that which is vulgar. I despise works of evil people and anything that moves my heart away from you. I will not let evil hold me in its grip.

Beloveds, we have spoken about many things concerning our eye gate these last weeks and there are so much more to be said about it, but I want to urge us all to not stop now, to stay alert and awake in this gate. May we constantly keep this scripture close to our hearts. May we say that we won’t tolerate vulgar, worthless things that affects our seeing in the spirit. May we hate the things that will turn us away from the Lord. May we be quick to see and shake evil off like accursed things before it takes hold of us.

Let us stick in there and keep cleansing this gate so that everything God has purposed for us here will be manifested in Jesus name.

Let us pray: Father God, thank You for Your faithfulness and love that will never change for me. Thank You for Your patience with me. I have so many shortcomings, but yet You do not give up on me. I love you for that. Lord, please guide me in this process of cleaning my eye gate. I give it all into Your hands and I give You permission to interfere and convict my heart when my eyes are wandering, when I am entertaining things in this gate that does not glorify Your name. Please come and deliver this gate completely from all contamination and bring it out of darkness into Your light. I want to see what You see, I want my see in the spirit to be pure and holy, set apart for only You Jesus. I choose to proclaim like David did in Psalm 101:3 I refuse to gaze on that which is vulgar. I despise works of evil people and anything that moves my heart away from you. I will not let evil hold me in its grip. Father, may Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is written in heaven for my eye gate in the name of Jesus, because of His blood that was shed for me at Calvary. Amen and amen

The Eye Gate – The Lamp Of The Body

The Eye Gate – The Lamp Of The Body

Beloved, if this is your first time reading this blog I would like to ask you to first go back to the post on “Let the Light in” before reading further.

For those that have been walking with me from the beginning of this series on cleansing our gates, I salute you! Well done for sticking in there and for becoming mindful of the way you look at things around you. Well done for getting heavens perspective on things and not look with your physical eyes at what you see. May you keep at it even when we carry on to the next gate.

Our scripture verse for this week is Matthew 6:22 The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.

Explanation

The meaning for “the eye is the lamp of the body” – The eye controls what goes into us. Therefore the eye is the window that allows either evil or good into us and this affects our whole being. A persons eyes can easily become contaminated by what it is focused upon. By allowing ourselves to look at things that are in contradiction to Gods Word our windows get dirty and our beings get filled with darkness.

“If your eyes are healthy, your body will be full of light”Body in this sense speaks of your whole being YOU AS A PERSON. If our windows are clean, our beings are filled with purity.

This verse speaks about what we allow our eyes to focus upon and how it will affect our whole being. If we look upon good or evil we can either carry light or darkness in our beings. This means that what we allow ourselves to focus on will have an affect on our conduct. Our BEHAVIORS will be influenced by what we BEHOLD (we look at).

What do we behold? What do we hook our eyes upon? What is the condition of our windows and our beings (the whole of me)? Do we experience light and life in our beings? If not, serious introspection is needed and then repentance and cleansing.

One example of how our beings can become defiled is when we are watching soap operas. Over the long run it can influence one so much that you start living the way that is portrayed in the story. How many of us as woman have watched soap operas and have been brain washed by looking at the way the men pursues the women: it looks so romantic and beautiful to us. We get emotionally invested in the love story and we start modeling this way of living in our daily lives with our husbands or boyfriends. We then start expecting them to behave the same way the soap operas dictate. The problem is that we then get disappointed because they are not romantic like what we see in the soap operas. We start comparing them with the guys in the stories and we become bitter because they are not doing what we have seen. This is a false image! Investing our emotions in things like this can easily affect our expectations and behaviors towards our loved ones in a destructive way.

This is the outflow of what your eyes looked upon and the affect it has on your whole being (behavior). Your windows are dirty because your eyes are hooked into the wrong place. We have to look at Gods Word on what Godly husbands should behave like and not look to the world for answers.

This is only one example, but there are many other things that we model in our daily lives that comes from what we see on television, media or see from unbelievers. Let us not conform to the ways of this world because our eyes are looking in the wrong place.

Beloveds, let us not only read this but let us start rejecting the things that we know will make us stumble. Let us give up on those soap operas, the books filled with love stories, Instagram or Tik Tok that paints an amazing picture of life but behind the scenes it is a different story. Go and look at Song of songs in the Bible about what a Godly relationship looks like. The Word of God is filled with everything you need for life and Godliness. I think it is time for us to return to the Word of God and get acquainted with Him again. Let us hook our eyes into the bread of life, Jesus our Savior.

Bread of Life Prayer

Returning to the Word of God

Father we come before You on the ground of our covenant with You. I include everyone in my family -, bloodline, seed line and the body of Christ in this prayer. I declare the following according to Your Word in John 6:35 which states; Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to Me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in Me shall never thirst.

Father we acknowledge the state of our spirits, souls, and bodies before You, we know that there are still many areas covered in darkness and we acknowledge that we are hungry and dry because we have been eating from the bread of the world which is packed with death. We have been feeding on what the news, the media and the voices of darkness are speaking. We have lost sight of You, the bread of life, relying and trusting on that which we are fed by the world. I trade and come in agreement with John 6:51 where Jesus said, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.”

You’re all empowering, Life giving, sustaining, healing, You are love, hope and mercy. I ask that You bring us back to life. Every area that has died because of eating from darkness, fill it with life again in the name of Jesus. I ask that Your life-light will start to flood our beings once again. Thank You for the flood of life released into every cell, DNA strand, our senses, organs, brains, and everything else pertaining to our spirits, souls, and bodies in the name of Jesus. I ask that we will be filled with true Life and Light, which is Jesus the Christ who came in the flesh and who died for our sins at Calvary.

Father I acknowledge that we don’t know You because we have been neglecting Your Word which is our daily bread. Our days are filled with heaviness because we are not upheld and sustained by You, our daily bread that gives life to us. Please forgive us for our neglect, for our numbness, for our lethargy and apathy in this area. Please forgive us for keeping ourselves busy with reading things of the world but we can’t even sit for five minutes to read Your Word. Forgive us for feeding off that which is useless and not life giving. We renounce and denounce eating from the bread of death in the name of Jesus. I ask that the blood of Jesus Christ will cleanse us and remove the lethargy and apathy that have come upon us in the name of Jesus. Father I give up this way of living, this way of feeding off darkness and I come in agreement with Philippians 2:16 which states “holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.” Father, I am choosing to hold fast to the Word of life in the name of Jesus. John 1:4 states that In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. Father, please restore the Light of Your Word in us in the name of Jesus.

Father, I repent and take full responsibility for walking in paths that lead to destruction, for looking at and agreeing with the world’s point of view, for allowing the world to dictate to me how I should live, behave, and think. I choose to return to my daily bread, Your Word that is life to me. I come in agreement with the following scriptures, and I declare it over myself and everyone I am standing in for in the name of Jesus.

Psalm 119:105 Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

Father, please forgive us for only reading or hearing Your Word but not living it. Please convict our hearts in the name of Jesus every time we are deceived.

Luke 11:28 He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the Word of God and obey it.”

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of our God endures forever.

Matthew 7:24 Therefore everyone who hears these Words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will never pass away.

Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will never pass away.

Psalm 33:4 For the Word of the Lord is right and true; He is faithful in all He does.

Isaiah 55:11 so is My Word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

John 6:63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The Words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.

Father, please help us to live according to what Your Word directs so that we can live lives worthy of You. Holy Spirit be our guide and lead us in paths of righteousness. We choose to look and eat from the Bread of life who will uphold us all the days of our lives! I pray this by the precious blood of Jesus Christ, in the name of Jesus.

Amen and amen
